Well the news it out, gray is here to stay! Indeed, we saw gray streaks all over the runway, and now that Kate Moss has died her blond locks silver, it's confirmed! But is it appealing? On the runway, exaggerated hair, makeup, clothes---AMAZING and a total necessity. In real life, not so much. My personal thoughts, designers are geniuses who have crystal balls into the fashion future. Sometimes we hate their ideas, but 6 months later we are obsessed! For the gray streaks, I'm not ruling it out. I think it has to be done very carefully. There is a fine line between looking fashionable and looking old.
I thought this quote from New York Magazine was very interesting and although controversial, it has a good point:
"First the industry — Karl Lagerfeld included — embraces plus-size models as high-fashion models, and now gray hair is all the rage. What will be hot next? Wrinkles and saggy cleavage? Cellulite? If so, probably not in the everyday sense. If designers one day decide to make dimpled flesh the next big thing, of course they won't hire normal women who actually have it to model their clothes. They'll send models down the runway in panty hose filled with rice or something."
