Not Your Average Nut

Looking for a quick way to get even skin tone, gorgeous hair, strong bones and beautiful eyes? Have some walnuts! Think this sounds too easy? Well think again!

Studies have shown, unlike any other nut, walnuts have a significant amount of alpha-linolenic acid, omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E that all contribute to beautiful skin and hair. This is why many articles on hair loss have recommended eating walnuts to reverse the process--by maintaining healthy hair, preventing hair from falling and actually increasing hair growth. Furthermore, these power nuts are also rich in protein, fiber, vitamin B, and magnesium which all contribute to healthier blood and bones.

The FDA released the following statement in March 2004 to further emphasize the benefits of walnuts:

"Supportive but not conclusive research shows that eating 1.5 oz of walnuts per day, as part of a low saturated fat and low cholesterol diet, and not resulting in increased caloric intake may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease."
